ROLE: Supervising Producer, Videographer

A seasonal explainer series from NPR Music, The Formula is about the alchemy of hip-hop music-making. We use interviews and graphics to visualize and atomize a producer’s creative process. The first season— focused on sampling— was a skunkworks project that grew out of this video I produced for Jazz Night in America. Leading the project requires bridging a range of deep expertises across the team: hip-hop, music theory, motion graphics, cinematography and more. Additional first season episodes featured Just Blaze, DJ Dahi, Salaam Remi and DJ Premier. See embeds below.
